WATER QUALITY

Source contaminates, system demand, long term effects of additives such as chlorine and growing concentrations of pesticides, chemicals and other toxins are major concerns for cottage and/or home owners. Water quality varies dramatically from property to property. Water filtering systems can provide effective and economical safeguards.

EXAMPLES OF WATER PROBLEMS
Treated Water - Chlorinated or otherwise rendered bacteria free.
Possible Problems
  • Bad taste, odour or chlorine
  • Sediment, dirt, rust, loose scale algae
  • Lead from household plumbing

Untreated Water - wells, rivers, lakes.
Possible Problems
  • Bad taste, odour
  • Sediment, dirt, rust, loose scale and algae
  • Lead from household plumbing
  • Harmful bacteria, coliforms and fecal coliforms, cysts and other organisms
  • Pesticides and chemicals

TYPES OF WATER FILTERS AND WHAT THEY DO
Sediment
A sediment filter cartridge will remove dirt, rust, loose scale and algae. it will also increase the effectiveness and life of taste, odour and bacteria filters.

Taste and Odour
Activated carbon taste/odour filter cartridges will provide a reduction of chlorine, offensive taste, odour, colour and common chemical contaminates if present in your water.

Bacteria
Silver-impregnated ceramic disinfection cartridges will effectively trap and kill bacteria, reduce unpleasant taste and odour and remove sediment to submicron levels.

THE SOLUTION
  • Have your water tested and use the filter (or combination filters) best suited to your individual needs.
  • These filters/filtering systems come in a variety of choices from whole house application (installed on the main line) to under the counter installations (for drinking water) with their own faucets.
  • Most systems are quite affordable. If you currently buy even a 1 litre bottle of water/week you will recover the cost in less than a year.
  • Extensive research and quality control ensure an effective/reliable product.
  • They are easily installed and economical to maintain with cleanable, re-usable (ceramic cartridges) or inexpensive, disposable cartridges (carbon and sediment) available from most hardware and plumbing stores.
